Inspiration! French Toast Edition

I was going to have my first (non-intro) post about my January new recipe success, but I went to Sunday brunch in Cambridge today when inspiration hit! I flipped open the menu to see "Stuffed Brioche French Toast" with Nutella, candied filberts, and torched bananas. Um, french toast? Nutella? bananas? I'm in! So this is going to be a short(er) inspiration post. I've never made French Toast at home, but I really want to, and this motivates me even more! Here are some pics of the full dish and the inside filling:

If that doesn't make you drool, I don't know what will. So, if you are ever in Cambridge, MA, check this out Russell House Tavern right by the Harvard campus (website). My next post will be about my January recipes: homemade pizza and roasted brussel sprouts, so keep an eye out!

Til next time!

A Short Introduction

Hello internet! I'm Jenn aka jennkay, and I'm a Californian temporarily living in Boston (brr!) for grad school. Upon my first blizzard-ridden, hurricane-filled, generally frozen winter, I realized quickly that a fast (and tasty) way to warm up was to make some delicious treats in the kitchen. This experience is the inspiration for my blog name, It's Warm in the Kitchen. I've always loved baking, and that hobby blossomed quickly when I was stuck inside from the cold. Now, I'm also trying to take a step toward a more adult, healthy(ish) life by cooking more meals for myself at home. Let's see how this turns out!

I started this blog mostly to document my (informal) resolution to try a new recipe every month. Let's face it, New Years' Resolutions are difficult to keep, so I'm trying to keep it informal, fun, and easy. I may also post about other miscellaneous items like tea, restaurants, or beauty products (some of my other obsessions). Since this post is a little intro and not anything specific, I'll end with a little peek into some of my past kitchen adventures!

See you next time!
